The stopover village, are communes indicated by a label, delivered by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, which guarantees you all the facilities and services you need for a well-deserved break during your journey.
On the way to your holidays, on a business trip, or out and about, drivers, motorhome owners, and other tourists, you’ll love stopping there! Practical, friendly, and accessible, the stopover village allows a change from the eternal motorway service area and is an invitation to discover the surrounding areas, in a pleasant setting. A real alternative, the stopover village is located less than 5 km or 5mn from the road axis and the population doesn’t exceed 5,000 inhabitants.

The federation was created in 2002, there are currently 73 communes with a label.
The first commune labelled was… Bessines-Sur-Gartempe in 1995!
